We will start our tour at 7 am from Cusco towards the community of Patabamba. On the way, we can observe the various crops of potatoes, quinoa, and other Andean products. In addition, we will stop at the Queswachaca suspension bridge, a wonder of Inca engineering that has survived for more than 500 years. Then, we will arrive at the balcony of the Sacred Valley, 800 meters above the Vilcanota River, where we can appreciate the surrounding villages and the majesty of the Apus Pitusiray and Sahuairay. We will continue towards the town of Siwas and from there, we will start our hike towards the Leon Punku pass. There, we will enjoy a delicious box lunch surrounded by an impressive landscape. Then, we will walk on the impressive Inca Trail towards the canyon, and after a couple of hours of hiking, we will arrive at Huchuyqosqo. In the community, we will enjoy a dinner prepared by the villagers and spend the night in their homes, where we can connect with their culture and traditions.
On the second day of our adventure, we will wake up early to watch the sunrise in the valley. The people of Huchuyqosqo will show us the more than 18 varieties of corn they produce, and we can share a cup of coca tea with them. Then, we will visit the Huchuyqosqo archaeological site, where we will learn more about Inca culture and its relationship with nature. After that, we will start our descent towards Lamay, a journey of approximately two hours, where we can appreciate beautiful landscapes and have a panoramic view of the surroundings. Finally, we will take a local bus back to Cusco, where we will arrive in the afternoon.
